Time Honoured Care For Healthier Hair

A brand with over 240 years of heritage, Kent Brushes have been producing a selection of the World’s finest hairbrushes and grooming products since 1777. With their rich history, Kent Brushes hold an appointment from Her Majesty The Queen, a Royal Warrant, a prestigious recognition of the brands’ dedication to British Hair Brush Manufacturing with only the finest materials and skill.

With such a tale to tell, Kent Brushes approached Eleven Miles for assistance with defining a unique and own-able visual identity in order to provide a consistent brand approach for both their D2C and B2B markets. Creating consistency would be key for this project, and with an ever-evolving market, the offering of Kent Brushes needed to be refined in order to achieve its maximum potential across all communications.

Quintessentially British Modern Heritage

Upon immersing themselves into the wonderful world of hair and hair care, the Eleven Miles team began working towards a strong, single-minded Brand Value Proposition that would capture what makes the Kent brand (and their offering) so special.

Kent stands proud from the competition due to their extensive knowledge and understanding of what makes the perfect brush – tools that can be used to actually improve the health of your hair, enabling us to authentically claim our products authentically do more good than harm. We developed the brand purpose “To put naturally healthy hair within everyone’s reach” and the value proposition of “Time honoured care for healthier hair”.

Designed to restore your shine

Once the full brand model had been established, we turned our attention to defining the new visual identity for the Kent brand. Eleven Miles were keen to position Kent as a premium, yet attainable, brand, who offer outstanding quality through their extensive range of products – for all hair types. The new colour palette and typography were based  around the rich heritage red and a precise, yet personable, tone of voice was created.

Capturing the people

To bring the new brand truly to life, we planned a brand launch campaign which showcased varying hair types and the broad range of hair care tools that Kent offers.

The Health of your hair is in your hands…

Following completion of the rebrand project, we began working with Kent towards a brand launch campaign to activate the core brand message. The result was an eye-catching 360 campaign that established Kent’s new ‘designed to restore your shine’ proposition and demonstrates how ‘the health of your hair is in your hands’.

Working alongside a wide-range of ‘real’ talent, the campaign imagery is focused on capturing the feeling you get from beautiful, natural and healthy hair, all down to their choice of brush.

We creatively concepted and produced a stills and video shoot, capturing 8 models with varying hair types to truly showcase the breadth of quality products.

It has been a pleasure working with the Eleven Miles team on this project. At Kent, we have such a rich heritage story which the team worked so hard to protect whilst bringing our visual identity into a new, own-able, and unique space. Watching the new brand model come to life has been a really exciting process and we are so pleased with the output. The feedback we have received on the work and the campaign to date has been excellent and as a result, we have commenced work with Eleven Miles on several more work-streams, which we are very excited about sharing soon.
